Student Greenhouse Project (SGP)
The Student Greenhouse Project is a group of students working to build
a community-oriented, student-run greenhouse for Michigan State University.
We want people to enjoy a refreshing, rejuvenating tropical garden
throughout the year, especially during harsh Michigan winters.
We envision the Biodome to be a student activity center and community
focus, an ecological learning center full of living ecology. The ecological
strategy entails inviting people into a rejuvenating nature-filled environment
and emphasizing the mental health and well-being benefits they are directly
experiencing. Immersing people in plants provides the self-taught learning
experience that is the foundation of our educational plan. We plant
a seed here in one place. Over decades as students come to MSU and carry
these experiences with them across the nation and world we believe the
life affirming lessons the Biodome will provide will have a great impact.
We welcome you to join in the fun and excitment by helping to create
something new on the campus of Michigan State University. The new Biodome
will be the most relaxing environment on this beautiful campus.

The Eden Project is the world's
premiere conservatory in England, its Biodome design is much like our
own even though it is much larger than our projected plan.
